FAQ
Do you consult without also building?
Yes, and often that is the better arrangement. An audit from someone who is bidding for the follow-on work is worth less. If the right answer is that you keep your current team and change three things, that is what the document will say.
How long does an engagement take?
An architecture review or due diligence pass is usually one to three weeks depending on the size of the system. Mentoring runs monthly for as long as it is useful.
Can you work with our existing vendor?
Yes. A lot of the work is translation between a client who knows the business and a supplier who knows the code, so that both sides are arguing about the same thing.
What does it cost?
It depends entirely on scope, so we quote per engagement after the first conversation rather than publishing a rate card. The first conversation itself is just a conversation.
